Wells Fargo Advisors

The Project

Alongside the digital innovation team at Wells Fargo Advisors, I designed a predictive retirement and goal planning tool for millennial affluent and emerging affluent individuals. The goal was the help Wells Fargo Advisors transition into the fintech space and create a sleek, modern experience that help younger generations be smarter with their finances.

Goals for the experience
Our team worked to discover the best experience possible with these goals in mind:

👵🏻 The experience should feel personal and approachable, with customization being a key theme

🔄 Encourages ongoing engagement and doesn't feel like a "set-it-and-forget-it" tool

👾 Introduces gamification into the retirement planning to make the experience feel lighter and more appealing

💞 Relationship building & collaboration to encourage adoption

💰 Fits affluent & emerging affluent users (WFA's main clientele)

Divergent Concept Sketches

Stakeholder Management

In addition to testing concepts and designs with users through various discovery techniques, we had a large group of executive stakeholders and SMEs from all departments who needed to feel heard.

We conducted a wide range of activities in order to create meaningful feedback loops and provide ample opportunity for everyone to have input as we iterated on concepts. Some of those sessions included:

• Guided discussions through abstract concepts

• Established criteria-based voting & rating systems for feedback
• Rapid brainstorm sticky-note sessions with non-designers

• Rose, bud, thorn exercise
• Advocation & elimination discussions
